Our week at Pueblo Bonito in Cabo

Last year, Spencer's parents invited us to spend a week in Cabo with them to spend time as a family before his little sister Lauren graduates from high school. If you know anything about winters in Portland, by March I am in desperate need of Vitamin D, so it took me approximately .5 seconds to accept! Today I want to share where we stayed, and some restaurants and activities we found.

Where We Stayed
Since there were seven of us staying together, Spencer's parents found a villa at Pueblo Bonito at Sunset Beach so we could all stay in the same house together. With such a big group, it was nice to not be split between a few hotel rooms! The house had a full kitchen, a private pool and hot tub, and allowed us to use all of the amenities the resort offered including concierge service to book excursions on and off site. Pueblo Bonito offers an all inclusive meal plan, however since we had a full kitchen we stopped on our way from the airport at Costco and Walmart and bought groceries to cook together. If Spencer and I came back again, we would definitely consider the meal plan, but it was nice to be able to eat meals in our house throughout the week instead of eating out for every meal!

What We Did
Okay being totally up front- this vacation was meant to be super relaxing, so most of our days entailed laying by either the pool at our villa (pictured above) or one of the six (!!) pools on the resort. There were golf carts to take us all over the property, and we took full advantage of exploring the property! Our favorite pool was called the Sky Pool, and had a beautiful view of the resort and the beach below!

One thing about Sunset Beach that isn't super convenient, is that rip tides make the water too dangerous to swim in. Luckily, Pueblo Bonito has two sister resorts on Medano Beach near downtown Cabo that we could take a shuttle to in order to swim in the ocean. We spent an afternoon lounging on the beach and jet skiing out in the ocean (we forgot our GoPro so we don't have any pictures! 😞)

On the last day, we went to Cabo Adventures and swam with a dolphin! I had done this once before, but it was fun to learn more about my favorite animal! If Spencer and I come back, we would definitely use Cabo Adventures for more excursions. They have a snorkeling trip that looks amazing!

Where We Ate
Like I mentioned earlier, we cooked a lot of our meals at the villa, but were able to try a few local places! My favorite was called Maria Jimenez Restaurante which was recommended to us by our concierge. The mango margaritas were awesome, and the tortillas that came with my fajitas were made within eyesight of our table! After dinner, we went to Cabo Wabo for a drink- it's a fun place that's worth checking out! The band the night we went was really good- they play Thursdays and Saturdays!
This dress is sold out :( but check out Sew Lovely to check out their other embroidered dresses!

Spencer and I got to take a little time for a lunch date in town, and we chose a place called The Sand Bar. We got to sit on the beach under a sea of umbrellas (which our toasty skin needed!) and the food was good! If we were to go back, we would try The Office and Sunset Point, they both have great reviews!

That's all I've got for now! What do you look forward to on a beach vacation?

XOXO,

Love,
Laura
